Not about to pop...

We've all seen the lady whose belly is so big with a baby (or babies) that she literally looks like she's going to pop. From the little I know, in that ninth month of pregnancy amazing and bizarre things happen to the expectant mother and her unborn child. The wait, which has seemed eternal, is almost over and soon, God-willing, a healthy child will come into this world. For most, it is an exciting time, a scary time, and an emotional time...

Today we have been officially "paper pregnant" for our second child for nine months. Nine months and I am not even close to popping! These are indeed emotional times for me. This month I have felt like I've had the hormones of a full-term pregnant woman. I am scared. I am uncertain. I am worried. I am struggling. I am impatient. I am losing hope. I also know I am not alone.

As often is the case, I seek guidance and comfort from the Psalms...Here is what comforted me today.

"Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord..." Psalm 27:14

Yes, Lord, I will wait...

Congrats on your 9 months down. You and I are exactly 8 months apart as I had my one month today. So you see It could be worse.(not that I'm complaining yeah lid) But each month we are apart is like 7 years in China according to the CCAA. lol. Enjoy your 9 month annv. Go buy that baby something on sale. Thank God that He kept you together this long and thank Him again for the same thing next month... Tonya 7-7-08

Lisa -

Another month down! That being said, there is the wonder of how many months ahead and so I am hoping this word to my heart may bring you comfort...In December, Jesus Calling had one devotion that speaks to perserverance. It says,

"As you persevere along the path I have prepared for you, depending upon My strength to sustain you, expect to see miracles - and you will."

I believe this and when I prayed for you today, this kept coming back to speak to my heart - may it speak to your heart as well.

Love to you sweet friend

Waiting on the Lord renews your strength- you will become an eagle- you will not grow weary- you will not faint- I am whispering your name to God each and every day!

I know the feeling! I will be praying for you guys as you wait, too! Only those who are in this crazy wait can understand what it feels like. Somedays I cope and savor the moments...other days I struggle with the wait and see no end in sight. I am reminded that God knows and sees all, so I can trust in that.

Hugs to you tonight!

Congratulations on 9 months down. Wonderful verse, thank you for sharing. I'm not sure without our faith this wait would be possible. Hang in there my friend.

Oh, wow, can I relate! I am feeling it too. I've been very busy lately with moving and getting my baby off to school and vacations, but I know when we're settled and the old routine of fall settles in, then I will start feeling so discouraged. It is a hard thing, but knowing it is what God has for you helps. And knowing God at all, well, that makes all the difference. Sometimes I wonder how parents who have no faith weather the wait. I cannot even imagine!!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog, I'm adding you to my list! :)

Lisa,
I can totally relate to the hormonal feeling you are experiencing. Through this process Greg informed me that pregnancy hormones are not from the womb but from the heart. I was way worse waiting on Sof and Helena than my other three. Hang on tight, for it is not a sprint but a marathon, and the training is preparing you for the marathon of parenthood. We think we are anxious when we are expecting, but it really begins when they arrive. May God of peace and joy be with you and your beautiful family!!! Know I am praying and thinking of you!!!
Hugs,
Chris
