There's traffic up ahead, folks...

Last night before I drifted off to sleep one of the big topics on the news was how our city will be undergoing MORE road construction, thus leading to more congestion and traffic headaches...This morning as I was listening to the news, yet another major road was about to be closed and the anchor warned of longer wait times and kindly recommended drivers check for alternate routes.

I breathed a sigh of relief that I no longer have to battle long, hectic, crazy commutes to and from work. I wasn't fond of it at the time and I know I wouldn't be fond of it now. In this instant gratification society, most people don't like to wait. In a lot of ways, we don't even know how to wait. During major traffic inconveniences I felt angst, I didn't look for ways to take the lemon and make it lemonade. It was a hassle plain and simple.

Today our paperwork has been logged in four months. Considering all the traffic ahead of us, we have a very long commute left. We don't like it but that's the situation. We chose the road we are traveling. We heard the warnings of the traffic reporters but got on the road anyway. We will keep plugging away mile marker by mile marker until we reach our destination--our next daughter...

Instead of feeling angst and frustration, I need to look for ways to enjoy the commute. I have some ways in mind but would love to hear your thoughts as well...

As always, thank you for your prayers!

Lisa,

Happy 4 months down!

Enjoy this time you have alone with Lindy. You can't change having to wait and you will never get this time alone with her back. Having to wait for the next perfect daughter for your family will be so worth it when you finally reach her. In the end, you wouldn't want to have done anything any differently. Keep trusting in the Lord and follow Him!!

Looking forward to seeing you tonight!

Blessings,
Jenn

You can look at it as... at least your in the line. We have our first SW meeting tonight. Yeah!! So one day we will be in that same line but we will be behind you. So don't go throwing things back at us while we are in line because I will throw it back up to you.Okay that sounds yucky I'll guess I'll toss it back up to you. Also you better watch out I'll try to cut . :)

Another thoughtful, honest post my friend. The wait is long, but the reward rich.

Celebrate this day.

I think we are on the same "highway" in our thoughts. Thank you for another inspiring way to look at our situations.

My Dear, I appreciate your honest perspective, but don't be hard on yourself WHEN (not IF) you grow weary along the way. It's a natural (and God-given) emotion. You will find the strength and support to continue your journey for you know what lies at the end of the road.

Love,
Mom

Just caught your blog by looking through Danielle's site, and I had to write and say- that picture is hysterical!! As we wait to adopt again from China, that sign is just PERFECT for how it's feeling! :) I enjoyed looking around your blog!

Lisa,
Great post and remember you are moving in the right direction!!! As I too have been in the traffic jam myself, I try to count the blessings that God has already filled my life with today and cherish every moment with the loved ones that are here with me now. Live for today and pray and plan for the blessings that are to come. For they will be here before you know it. Keep the faith!! For God has great plans for your family and it's all in his hands and timing!! Blessings! Chris Mott

Great post Lisa! I am working on a similar post. Like you, we choose this path, knowing of the long wait and uncertainty. We are just enjoying the time we have together as we know our lives will be forever changed once we receive our daughter.

So far I have felt a sense of peace about the process as I know the Lord is in control. I just hope this feeling continues, as we've got a long road ahead.

Happy 4 months!

Karen
